Secure drone usage for Special Forces and critical infrastructure protection against cyber-attacks at Security Essen

Berlin, September 20, 2018 – Infotecs, the international vendor of cybersecurity and threat intelligence solutions, participates in Security Essen on 25.-28.09.2018, the leading international security and fire protection exhibition. At stand 8D50, hall 8, security experts will present various solutions for using drones by special forces and protecting e charge infrastructures in e-mobility, as well as protecting critical infrastructures against cyber-attacks.

Meet Infotecs at Security Essen in hall 8, stand 8D50

Drones are being increasingly used in the security and surveillance systems because they allow a real-time evaluation of situations – even in inaccessible or dangerous zones. To assess dangerous situations quickly and generate a perspective in the air, for example, fire departments can use drones to detect fire sources. The video data from drones is considered extremely critical and intended for the authorized personnel only. That is why it is essential to protect and encrypt such data.

This topic will be covered by Josef Waclaw, CEO of Infotecs GmbH, in his speech on "Data protection in UAV – Secure encrypted live video data transfer from drones for special forces" during the Security Experts Forum at Security Essen in hall 2, stand 2B99 on Wednesday, 26.09.2018 at 14:30. The security expert will explain how live video data transfer from drones can be protected against cybercriminals' attacks. ViPNet, the military-grade software-defined security technology, organizes the end-to-end communication and data transfer between the drone and the operation command center or mobile end devices via a mobile data network. Unauthorized parties cannot listen to the video data and publish it on social media without due authorization. The ViPNet encryption completely prevents the so-called man-in-the-middle attacks because the technology is based on the symmetrical key management and requires no key exchange when establishing the connection. Special Forces, for example, in fire protection, emergency management or hazard prevention, can access the sensitive data from drones via mobile end devices, such as smartphones or tablets, or from the operation command center.

At stand 8D50, hall 8, the Infotecs team will demonstrate more showcases related to IT security for critical and/or industrial infrastructures. Along with a simulated cyber-attack on a brewery, the IT security specialists will present an integrated security solution for e-mobility. The solution will clarify how the e-charger infrastructure can be protected against cyber-attacks.

"Conventionally, the perimeter protection is complemented by electronic surveillance systems, like, for example, video camera surveillance or electronic access control systems, etc. ", explains Josef Waclaw, CEO of Infotecs GmbH. "They require special protection against cyber-attacks."

The Security Essen is considered a golden meeting point for the international security and fire protection areas and covers classical, physical, as well as digital security. From September 25 to 28, 2018, over 1,040 participants from 45 countries will present their solutions on access/mechatronic/mechanical systems, perimeter, video, security services, fire/intrusion protection systems, and cyber security/economic protection in 8 exhibition halls. Infotecs will be glad to see interested visitors at its stand 8D50 in hall 8.
