Secure drone video surveillance for security agencies and special forces at Infosecurity Europe in London
Berlin/London, May 29, 2018 – On June 5-7, 2018, Infotecs, a leading cybersecurity and threat intelligence company, will present its security solutions for drone surveillance together with drone manufacturer at Infosecurity Europe in London. Both companies will show how live videos can be securely transferred from drones over mobile networks.
Drones have proven to be efficient for security and surveillance and offer key advantages to personnel operating on the ground. Drones also become useful in many other areas, such as building maintenance or disaster relief operations. The video data recorded by drones can be highly sensitive, so unauthorized parties must have no access to them. The protection and security of these data are critical.
Infotecs has partnered with drone manufacturer www.lech-tec.de and is providing data protection for the drones. At Infosecurity Europe, the companies will show how live video data transferred from drones via mobile networks can be encrypted end-to-end and thus protected from cybercriminals’ attacks. Thus, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) can establish encrypted connections with their ground stations or directly with authorized mobile end devices. That’s where the military-grade software-defined ViPNet security technology, developed by Infotecs on the basis of symmetrical key management, is applied. With the help of ViPNet software, only authorized parties can view the video data recorded by drones.
"First of all, it is important for reconnaissance of terrorist attacks and other threat situations that special forces can securely access the video data sent from drones in the encrypted form", says Josef Waclaw, CEO of Infotecs GmbH. "If the video data gets published in social media or somewhere else on the Internet, it can have fatal consequences. With our highly secure encryption solution, we can prevent listening, dissemination, and manipulation of such data."
Uli Barth, CEO of www.lech-tec.de, adds: "Due to the increasing opportunities for using drones, employed or contracted drone pilots create and store more images and videos online. This perspective often allows speeding up the maintenance and inspection processes in the industry, or, so to speak, "glance over the fence" of a building. That’s why it's important that only the actually authorized people are allowed see the video. What's more, we're working on reliable drone navigation, which represents a new step towards a new dimension of drone flights."
Infosecurity Europe is considered the number one IT security event in the region and offers the widest and the most comprehensive conference agenda in Europe, as well as the most important IT security solutions and products by over 400 participants to approximately 19,500 expected visitors. The event covers all the relevant IT security topics, including physical & IoT security, cloud security, data protection, risk & compliance management, and threat intelligence. Infotecs and www.lech-tec.de will welcome visitors at Bavarian International Stand N140.
An owner-run, self-financed medium-sized company and its expert partners cover the entire subject area of the independent consulting, construction, and integration, as well as the safe operation for flight services in the field of drone-based remote sensing, new and exciting application scenarios for drones, training, drone detection, and protection from drones. This allows us to rely upon a profound network for post-production in 3D modeling, surveying and geodata, as well as the media. Recently, we have developed an airfield in Thuringia to introduce the parallel flight operation of the manned and unmanned aircraft and the required processes.
